The project deals with erotica and examines control and dominance in the field of erotica.
The tailored suit combines a history and culture of male hegemony, wealth, and power. The tailored jacket is carefully sewn and incorporates a regulated set of rules. Rules on how to sew, cut, and iron, thus succeeding in producing control over the body structure and resculpting distortions in the body that create the appearance of perfection and symmetry. In contrast, Shibari bindings are bindings that come from Japanese culture, in which the body's appearance is resculpted through the rope and the form of the binding. The bindings are done by the ruler and actually produce an experience of being controlled. Both the tailored jacket and the shibari ties change the appearance of the body structure and teach the body how to move within the body, thus creating the experience of control and being controlled.
In fact, the rope and ties become a clothing accessory and thus reshape the garment.
