The project is about the connection between music, dance, space, and the body.
My inspiration was the creator and singer Tomer Yosef. I observed and studied his body movements and rituals on and off stage. The outfit system incorporates smart technology by placing motion sensors in certain areas of the body, through which the garment produces sounds. The rhythm repeats itself according to the repeated rituals of movement preformed and creates a new "musical instrument".
In my work process I used Arduino technology and motion sensors that I connected to the body's movement centers. The sensors know how to detect the movement and are programmed to produce a sound as a result of bending, and in doing so, I created a clothing system that is in itself, a musical instrument.
